Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) suffered a significant defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, while Ajit Pawar's faction of the NCP secured 41 seats. Following this unexpected result, many state leaders are reaching out to Ajit Pawar, indicating potential shifts in political allegiance.
One notable figure, Satish Chavan, had previously switched from Ajit Pawar’s group to Sharad Pawar’s NCP before the elections, resulting in a six-year suspension from the party. However, recent developments suggest that Chavan is looking to rejoin Ajit Pawar's faction.
MP Sunil Tatkare, the state president of the NCP, confirmed that Chavan has resigned from Sharad Pawar's party. He mentioned that Chavan has regained confidence in Ajit Pawar's leadership and strategy and believes he can make meaningful contributions to the party. Consequently, Chavan's suspension from the NCP has been lifted.
