Maharashtra: University students except those in final year to be promoted to next class
On Friday Maharashtra minister for higher and technical education Uday Samant announced that, "All university students, except those in the final year of their graduation course, will be promoted to the next academic year by respective universities. Final year students, as of this date, will be appearing for their exams between July 1 and 30”. In a Facebook live session held on Friday afternoon, Samant clarified the state’s decision on long awaited questions posed by students across the state.
The government will take stock of the situation again on June 20.
Samant said that 50-50% gradation formula will be used to promote students. 50% will be based on performance in previous years and 50% based on performance in the current year.
Also, ATKT students will be promoted to next year, however, will have to clear papers in 120 days after the term starts.
The road map will be fair and just to all students studying in universities across Maharashtra. I would suggest to drop your worries on this and stay safe and indoors. We are here for you all!
