According to the India Meteorological Department (imd), Mumbai and its suburbs are expected to experience a partly cloudy sky on April 11, with temperatures ranging between a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius. While the city continues to endure scorching heat and high humidity, other parts of Maharashtra are bracing for varied weather conditions.
As per the IMD's forecast, districts in Vidarbha may witness thunderstorms and rainfall, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations. Thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning are likely in Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, and Wardha.
Meanwhile, Marathwada is expected to experience hot and humid conditions, with some areas likely to experience hot nights. The IMD noted that this variation underscores the diverse climatic patterns across different regions of Maharashtra.
The mercury soared to 45.3 degrees Celsius in Nandurbar on Wednesday. Jalgaon and Akola recorded 43.7 degrees Celsius, indicating a rise in heatwave conditions across the state. A yellow alert has been issued for unseasonal rain in Vidarbha. The region is likely to experience maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Unseasonal rainfall is expected over the next three days, which may bring some relief from the intense heat, including in parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
