Maharashtra Weather Forecast: Cloud cover has brought some relief from the heat in Nagpur and parts of Vidarbha, bringing temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius. A cyclonic circulation from Marathwada to Kerala has caused weather changes, increasing the chances of thunderstorms and rain. The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for Vidarbha from March 20 to 22.

According to the IMD, winds will blow at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour on March 20 in Nagpur, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal. Wind speeds may increase to 40 to 50 kilometers per hour on March 21 in Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia, Wardha, and Yavatmal, accompanied by thunderstorms and light rain. On March 22, Gondia and Washim may experience winds reaching 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Temperatures Drop but Heat Persists

Nagpur’s temperature has remained below 40 degrees Celsius in recent days. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 39.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Cloud cover has contributed to the drop, but humidity and heat continue to trouble residents.

Akola was the hottest place in the region, recording 41.1 degrees Celsius. Brahmapuri recorded 40.3 degrees, while Amravati and Wardha recorded 40.2 degrees. Chandrapur also touched 40 degrees. Other districts in Vidarbha recorded temperatures ranging from 37 to 39.9 degrees Celsius. Gondia recorded the lowest maximum temperature in the region at 37 degrees Celsius.
