February has brought weather fluctuations across Maharashtra. While cold conditions have largely receded, select districts continue to experience a cold wave during the early morning hours. In contrast, heat wave conditions are intensifying in several other regions. Apart from Mumbai and its suburbs, the Konkan coastal belt, as well as central and western Maharashtra, are witnessing a steady rise in maximum temperatures.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures across Maharashtra have risen to 35 degrees Celsius, with Solapur recording the highest at 37.4 degrees Celsius. In response, the IMD has issued an alert, warning residents of a further increase in temperatures in the coming days.

Niphad recorded the lowest temperature in Maharashtra, with maximum and minimum temperatures varying between 10 and 22 degrees Celsius. The IMD predicts further warming in the next 24 hours, cautioning residents to avoid afternoon outings unless necessary.

The Western Disturbance is set to bring rainfall across northern India, with Rajasthan experiencing the most significant impact. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand, while Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana may witness thundershowers, according to the IMD.
