Maharashtra Minister Aslam Shaikh on Thurday announced that families of the deceased in Malad building collapse incident will be given Rs 5 lakh each as compensation
At least eleven people, including eight minors, lost their lives after a residential structure collapsed in New Collector compound, Malad West of Mumbai late on Wednesday night, informed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The incident took place around 10:15 pm. Among the eleven people who died include eight members of the same family.
At least 11 people, including eight minors, lost their lives after a residential structure collapsed on Wednesday night. As many as 18 people have been rescued safely, while seven people have been injured in the incident. Rescue operations are still underway.
As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the collapse engulfed a nearby residential structure. It also affected another residential structure in the area that is now in a "dangerous condition". The building, which is in dangerous condition has been evacuated.
