Pune's Vimantal police have arrested a man for posting an offensive post on Facebook about Rashmi Thackeray, the wife of Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

His name is Rajendra Pandharinath Kakade. He is from Wadgaon Shinde, Haveli and is an activist of a political party. According to the police, Rajendra Kakade had posted an offensive post on social media platform Facebook about Uddhav Thackeray's wife Rashmi Thackeray.

A complaint was later lodged against him. A case has been registered against him for acting in a manner that would tarnish the image of a prominent political figure. Kakade is a BJP worker and owns a stationery shop.

Earlier, cyber police had registered a case against two youth leaders of NCP for morphing photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the intention of defaming them.
