The PM CARES Fund or Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund was set up following the Covid-19 pandemic in India in March 2020 to undertake and support relief or assistance of any kind relating to a public health emergency or any other kind of emergency, calamity or distress.

The appeal received a huge response from across the country. Billions of rupees were deposited in the PM Care Fund. Vijay Parikh of Ahmednagar had also contributed a large amount to the fund. Vijay Parikh had deposited Rs 2 lakh 51 thousand in the PM Care Fund.

However, in the second wave of corona, his covid positive mother did not get a hospital bed. Therefore, Vijay Parekh has shared his tragedy on his Twitter account. He also shared a receipt of the money he donated on Twitter.

Parikh wrote,"Donation of 251k couldn’t ensure bed for my dying mother. Pls advise how much more should I donate to reserve berth for the 3rd wave so I don’t lose any more members..@PMOIndia, @rajnathsingh, @RSSorg, @smritiirani, @rashtrapatibhvn"

Parekh's tweet has going viral. In just 15 hours, 20,000 likes and 8,386 retweets have been received. What is special is that if you look at Parikh's previous tweets, it is clear that he is a BJP supporter.
