Sachin Vaze along with Vinayak Shinde had hatched a conspiracy to assassinate Mansukh Hiren for refusing to be arrested in connection with the Antilia bomb scare case. The NIA investigation revealed that they had planned to travel together in his Audi car. In CCTV footage from March 2, Sachin Vaze was seen driving an Audi car and passing through the toll gates at the Bandra Worli Sea Link. Former constable Vinayak Shinde can be seen in the car with Sachin Waze, sources said.

Authorities suspect that the Audi was kept at Vasai, Virar, so the investigation team went to the area on Thursday and conducted a search operation.

The Audi car has been traced by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing the case. The agency had earlier seized at least six cars including a Mitsubishi Outlander, two Mercedes Benz, allegedly used by Sachin Vaze.

The Audi (MH04FZ6561) was spotted on March 2 CCTV footage at the toll booth at Worli Sea-Link. Shinde was driving it, while Vaze was sitting next to him. The footage shows Shinde arguing with the employees over paying the toll. Authorities believe the two plotted to assassinate Hiren.
