Maharashtra Leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis on Friday reacted over Mansukh Hiren's death whose car was found outside Mukesh Ambani's residence last week with gelatin inside it.

I asked in House for protection to Mansukh Hiren, as he's the main link in the case & might be in danger. Now we get to know of his body being found. It makes the case fishy. Looking at this & alleged terror angle, we demand that case be handed over to NIA, said Fadnavis.

Mansukh Hiren died by suicide by jumping into Kalwa creek in Thane, Maharashtra, said Thane DCP.

The Scorpio car had been stolen from the eastern suburbs a few days ago, police said. The Police has registered accidental death report in the case.

In his statement to the Mumbai Police, Mansukh Hiren had claimed that his car had not been in use for over a year and that he recently drove the vehicle because he wanted to sell it. Hiren had said to police officials that his car broke down and he decided to park it on the Mulund-Airoli Link Road on February 16. When he returned to the spot the next day, the vehicle had been stolen.

According to the police, Mansukh Hiren had even filed a complaint about his stolen Scorpio with the Vikhroli police.

Explosive materials were found in a vehicle outside group chairman Mukesh Amb's residence on February 25. Some amount of Gelatin and letter was found in the vehicle, Mumbai Police had said.According to sources, the handwritten "threat letter" in "broken English" was addressed to Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta Ambani.
