Huge traffic jams were reported on the Sion-Panvel highway due to an incident which took place during the morning peak hours on Wednesday between 10.00 to 10.30 am.

As many as 25 vehicles collided on the Kalamboli flyover. The incident was reported near Kalamboli flyover on Sion-Panvel highway. No one received any major injuries in this accident, as per reports.

However the accident has caused extensive damage to vehicles. Concretisation work on Sion-Panvel highway is underway which is said to have caused the accident. The accident is said to have been caused by negligence on the part of the workers while they were on the road.

The workers had not placed signage, flags or signs on the highway while the work was in progress. The vehicles had to apply the brakes immediately, as there were workers on the road. 

The accident caused a major traffic jam on the road.
