Mumbai-Goa Highway Accident: Two Killed As Truck Carrying Iron Rods Overturns in Ratnagiri
A truck overturned near Bawanadi Bridge on the Mumbai-Goa Highway on Friday morning, killing the driver and cleaner on the spot. The accident happened when the driver lost control on a downhill curve.
The victims were identified as Mohammad Attar Samsher Ali Shah, 22, from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and cleaner Gulam Mohammad Rajjak Ali Shah, 21, from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The truck, carrying iron rods, was traveling from Goa to Mumbai. Around 7:30 a.m., it overturned at a sharp turn before the bridge. The impact crushed the cabin, leaving both men trapped inside.
A team from the rural police station arrived at the scene, conducted an initial investigation, and sent the bodies to the district government hospital for postmortem. Police have registered the case, and sub-inspector Sunil Chavan is leading the investigation.
