The second wave of the Covid-19 has left infected patients gasping for breath as hospitals in some states continue to face an acute shortage of medical oxygen. Over the past few weeks, many breathless Covid-19 patients have died due to the unavailability of medical oxygen in hospitals.

Amid the crisis, Vishal Kadane has broken his FD that he had saved for his Doctor of Literature education to provide oxygen concentrator machines to the needy. Vishal lives in Bhandup area of Mumbai. His efforts have so far saved the lives of more than 12 Corona victims.

Vishal, a resident of Bhandup, is working as a director in the Mumbai Housing Federation. He has been into social service from the very beginning, provided 5,000 free masks, 500 oximeters, food and other necessities to the needy in the first wave of Corona. This social service is still going on today. In the second wave, many people lost their lives due to lack of oxygen.

So, Vishal decided to call for an oxygen concentrator on the advice of an expert doctor as a remedy for the lack of oxygen. These devices provide an alternative to the lack of oxygen beds, say expert doctors. However, these oxygen concentrator devices are expensive and are mostly made abroad.

This device can be used at home as a best alternative to an oxygen cylinder. So oxygen beds will not have to be blocked for mild symptoms and oxygen beds will be available for severe patients. As soon as Vishal understood this from the doctors treating Covid patients, he discussed with several foreign companies and demanded some oxygen concentrators. However, as these machines are expensive, Vishal bought these machines by breaking the FD kept for his education. Vishal wants to get the degree of Doctor of Literature.

Due to Corona everything has come to halt. Vishal has so far procured a total of 12 machines from the money set aside for his education and they have been delivered to the needy patients. The machine have been delivered to patients in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai so far.
