Mumbai police arrests bus driver for allegedly assaulting minor in Bhayandar area
In a shocking incident, a bus driver was arrested for allegedly assaulting a minor in the Bhayandar area in Mumbai, police said on Tuesday. "The victim has been rescued and admitted to Nair hospital in Mumbai. The accused was presented in the court today and further investigation is on," said ACP Sashikant Bhosle.
The Mumbai Police had recovered a missing girl and arrested a tourist bus driver for allegedly molesting the four-year-old girl inside the bus in Mumbai's Bhayander area.
Police sad the accused driver had picked the girl up in his bus when she was playing outside Bangladesh Pada. He then allegedly sexually assaulted the girl.
To destroy evidence, the accused took her to Vasai when she was in an unconscious state. He then put her inside a sack and threw the sack away. A couple at the bus stop noticed the sack and informed the police.
The police then circulated the picture of the girl on a police WhatsApp group and traced the girl’s parents who had filed a missing complaint at Bhayander. The girl’s mother confirmed that the girl in the photo was her daughter.
“Parents of the girl has given a complaint that her daughter was playing inside a bus in their vicinity. Other girls returned but she didn’t. Acting on the complaint, police started searching for the bus driver and traced him to Manikpura police station. He has been sent to police custody till December 28,” ACP Sashikant Bhosle from Bhayandar police station said.
