Mumbai Shocker: Man Kills Wife, 5-Year-Old Daughter, Then Dies By Suicide Due To Financial Issues in Virar
A pall of shock and grief has descended upon Mumbai's Virar area following the discovery of three bodies in a residential apartment on Wednesday, the 26th. Preliminary police investigations have revealed a devastating tale of financial desperation, leading a father to take the lives of his wife and young daughter before ending his own. The deceased have been identified as Udaykumar Kajwa, his wife Veena Kajwa, and their five-year-old daughter, Shivalika. The tragic scene unfolded in their residence on the tenth floor of Maitri Heights, located in the Global City area of Virar West.
According to police reports, Udaykumar Kajwa, facing severe financial hardship and unemployment, resorted to the extreme act of killing his wife and daughter. Veena Kajwa was reportedly battling a terminal illness, adding to the family's already strained circumstances. Despite her health challenges, she was the primary breadwinner, running private classes to support the household. The family's financial woes were further exacerbated by the disconnection of their electricity supply two days prior by Mahavitaran, due to unpaid bills. This added strain likely contributed to the father's desperate actions.
The sole survivor of this heart-wrenching incident is the couple's 11-year-old son, Vedant Kajwa, who was at school at the time of the tragedy. The bodies have been sent to J.J. Hospital for post-mortem examination. A non-cognizable offense has been registered at Bolinj Police Station, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
