Murdered and Disposed in a Sack: Unidentified Woman’s Body Found Floating on Wagh River

The body of an unidentified woman, stuffed in a sack, was dumped in the Wagh river. Villagers called the police after they saw the sack floating in the river on April 1. They spotted the body at Ghatkarpada on the Nashik-Mokhda-Jawhar Road, an official said, reported PTI.

When the police reached the spot, they found that the body was of a woman in her 20s. The body was in a decomposed state in the sack. It has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem, the official said. He also said that a case has been registered under sections 103(1)(murder) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, reported PTI.

Officials stated that when the police examined the body, they discovered that the woman had been strangled before being packed in a sack and dumped in the river. The official said that they are investigating this case.
