Nanded: Crocodile Spotted in Farm at Midnight, Rescued by Forest Officials (Watch Video)
Nanded, Maharashtra (February 11, 2025): A 1.5-year-old male crocodile was found in a farm at Ghotka village in Loha taluka, causing panic among local farmers. The reptile was spotted around 1 a.m. on Tuesday in the Mukhed forest range.

After receiving information, a team from the Forest Department rushed to the spot and safely captured the crocodile. Villagers were alarmed by the unexpected sighting, as this is the first time a crocodile has been found in Nanded district.
Ghotka village sarpanch informed forest officer about the reptile. sarpanch, along with forest guard and wildlife rescuers arrived at the farm and caught the crocodile using special tongs. The reptile was then taken to the Mukhed veterinary hospital, where Doctors conducted a preliminary health check-up around 11 a.m. It is currently being kept at the forest department’s office. Doctor confirmed that the reptile is a young male, estimated to be around 1.5 years old.
Forest officer said the crocodile will be released into its natural habitat once senior officials give their approval.
