Navi Mumbai: Residents of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) area, including Kharghar and Kamothe, will face at least 24-hour water supply disruption starting this evening due to a major leakage in the main pipeline supplying water from Morbe Dam.
According to NMMC, a 2042 mm diameter water pipeline has developed a leak at Marble Market, Kalamboli. As a result, the water supply from the Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant has been temporarily halted to facilitate urgent repairs. The affected areas are Kamothe, Kharghar, Belapur, Turbhe, Nerul, Vashi, Koparkhairane, and Airoli.
Municipal officials have assured that repair work is being carried out on a war footing. However, the water supply will remain completely shut on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. It will be restored on Thursday evening but with low pressure.
NMMC has urged residents to use water judiciously and cooperate with the municipal administration during this period.
