The 'Varanasi model' is being promoted in the country to fight against covid-19. However, the attempt is now being made to cover up the incapability to fight covid, alleged Nawab Malik, the NCP's national spokesperson and minority minister.

There was no place for cremation on the ghats of Benaras. People dumped the bodies in the river Ganga. It is understood that after the incident is discussed across the country and the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold discussions with DMs, doctors, hospital staff and officials to create a Varanasi model. But the Varanasi model is nothing, said Nawab Malik.

Also, no testing was taking place in Varanasi when covid was spreading exponentially in the region. No one was being treated. Drugs were being lack marketed. Oxygen was sold in the black market. The 'Varanasi model' has failed like the 'diagnostic model'. Therefore, stop promoting the Varanasi model, said Nawab Malik.
