NCP leader and Sindhudurg District Bank director Gulabrao Chavan on Monday joined the Bhartiya Janata Party. He joined the party at the residence of BJP MP Narayan Rane in the presence of Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. Gulabrao Chavan was one of the staunch supporter of NCP President Sharad Pawar.

Gulabrao Chavan is a local NCP leader in Sindhudurg. He is the Director of Sindhudurg District Bank. However, his entry into the BJP is likely to change the political equation in the district bank elections.

Along with Narayan Rane, his son and MLA Nitesh Rane, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Praveen Darekar and MLA Prasad Lad were also present.

Who is Gulabrao Chavan?

Gulabrao Chavan is a big name in the co-operative sector in Sindhudurg district. Gulabrao Chavan, who considers NCP president Sharad Pawar as his role model, is a staunch supporter of Pawar. He has been working as the Director of Sindhudurg District Bank for more than 30 years.
