Suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze, accused in Mansukh Hiren death case, was planning another big act after explosive planting near Antilia in Mumbai, said NIA sources.

A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Friday sent Vaze to judicial custody till April 23 in the case of placing the explosives-laden vehicle outside the residence of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and subsequent death of Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiren.

Sources added that the NIA is also ascertaining if former senior police inspector Pradeep Sharma provided logistics support to Vaze.

They further clarified that the statement of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, who deposed before the NIA on April 7, has been recorded as a witness, not as a suspect.

Vaze was arrested by the anti-terror agency on March 13.
