On the occasion of Gudi Padwa Pm Narendra Modi visited Nagpur's Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters first time in 11 years after becoming the prime minister. PM Modi became the second sitting PM to visit the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited it in 2000 during his third term as PM, an RSS official said. This is also PM Modi's third term in the top post. However, his visit has become a topic of discussion in opposition political circles. Post PM visit Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut made a big claim. While speaking of PM's visit, he stated that "The Sangh will decide the successor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he will be from Maharashtra".
Reacting to Sanjay Raut's statement, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said 'In Indian culture, children are not thought of while the father is alive, nor should they be. Thinking like this is Mughal culture.' Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "There is no reason to look for Modiji's successor. Modiji is our leader. Modiji will work for many more years. We insist. We are looking at Modiji as the Prime Minister of 2029. The entire country is looking. Therefore, it will not be right to discuss such things now. In Indian culture, children are not thought of while the father is alive, nor are they supposed to be thought of. This is all Mughal culture that children think like this while the father is alive. Therefore, the time has not come to choose a successor for anyone, anywhere. There is no such question."

What exactly did Raut say?
During a press conference, Sanjay Raut was asked this question: Who will be Modi's heir? He had said, "It seems that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will take a decision on this. Will we see a big tug-of-war on this?" When asked, Raut had said, "This is why Modi was called yesterday and discussed with him. Also, the discussion of the Sangh is behind closed doors and that discussion behind closed doors is unlikely to come out. Still, some indications are clear. The next leader will be decided by the Sangh and he will most likely be from Maharashtra."
This is not a simple matter...
"The information coming out makes it clear that in September, Prime Minister Modi announced a policy stating that individuals who have reached the age of 75 should not hold positions of power. As a result, the Sarsanghchalak spoke to him to remind him of his role or the role of the Sangh, signaling that our time has come. With September approaching, a change in the country's leadership will be necessary. The fact that Prime Minister Modi had to visit Nagpur after 10–11 years to meet the Sarsanghchalak is not a simple matter," Raut had also stated.
