Pune: Azam Institute offers mosque as quarantine facility

Maharashtra is one of the worst hit state by COVID-19. The state is under lockdown till May 3. An educational institute in COVID-19 hit Pune district has offered to help by providing a hall in a mosque inside its premises as a quarantine facility.

The hall, which is located in the campus of Azam Institute in Bhavani Peth area, is one of the virus hotspots in Pune, The hall is around 9,000 square feet in area and can easily accommodate 80 people after following the social distancing rules, said the officials.

"We can provide food as well to those quarantined if need be. These are extraordinary times and every person must come forward to help combat the deadly virus," said PA Inamdar, president of Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society which runs Azam Institute.
