Railway Horror: Woman Passenger Traveling to Pune Harassed by TTE on Gorakhpur-Bangalore Train, Booked
A railway ticket examiner has been booked for misbehaving with a young woman traveling from Kanpur to Pune on the Gorakhpur-Bangalore special train. A case has been registered against the accused, identified as Tiwari.
The woman had reserved a seat on train number 06530 but her ticket was in the RAC category. She approached the ticket examiner to check for available seats. Initially, she was asked to sit in coach B/4 but was later assigned seat number five in coach A/1.
When she went to her seat, Tiwari also sat nearby and inappropriately touched her. At first, she ignored it, thinking it was accidental. When the same thing happened again, she became frightened and went to the restroom to avoid further trouble. She remained there for 15 to 20 minutes out of fear.
After coming out, she saw the ticket examiner still standing nearby. She immediately contacted her father and informed him about the incident. A complaint was filed at Bhusawal railway station. The police at Manmad recorded her statement.
Where Were the Railway Security Personnel?
Every train, especially air-conditioned coaches, is supposed to have Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel for passenger safety. Questions are being raised about the absence of security during the incident and whether the personnel on duty failed in their responsibilities. An investigation into this matter is also necessary.
