Heavy rains lashed Palghar, Dahanu, Virar, Nalasopara, Vasai, Thane, Kalyan, Ambernath and Badlapur areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rains in the next three to four hours. Mumbai has also been experiencing continuous rains since morning and heavy rains are expected in the next three hours. Heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected in Santacruz, Virar, Palghar, Dahanu, Borivali, Kalyan, Panvel, Alibag, Khandala, Satara Ghatmathya area and Pune. Therefore, citizens have been asked to stay home.

The village of Gas in the western part of Vasai has been submerged in rain waters and the road connecting the village has also been completely submerged. In Thane, continuous rains have caused waterlogging and also led to traffic snarls. Vandana cinema area is flooded due to heavy rains. Waterlogging was also reported in other low lying areas.

The IMD tweeted,"Moderate to intense spells of rain very likely to continue over Mumbai, Thane ,Palghar, and Raigad during next 3-4 hrs and at isolated places over Pune, Satara, Ratnagiri."
