Given the scarcity of vaccines and the confusion at vaccination centers, the Department of Public Health is considering to make groups of corona vaccination for people between the ages of 18 and 44, depending on age and co-morbidities.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope said this at a press conference on Friday. Can people between the ages of 35 and 44 be given preference?In that too, people with co-morbidity may be given more priority.Until the vaccine becomes available in abundance, we will have to classify, Tope said. Discussions are underway with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to order Russia's Sputnik vaccine to ensure adequate supply of the vaccine in the state.

Oxygen constructor is to be procured through global tender.A committee of three doctors has been appointed to look into the technical aspects of the device.

Tope informed that 16,000 employees of the health department will be recruited soon and 3 lakh Remdesivir will be received soon through international tenders. 38 PSA plant to be commissioned soon. Work orders have been issued for import of 3 lakh Remedesivir injections with the approval of DCGI. Tope said 38 PSA plants will soon be operational in the state for oxygen supply.

A third wave of corona is expected to infect children.Therefore, a task force of pediatricians will be formed immediately, said Rajesh Tope. Emphasis is being laid on increasing the number of hospital beds, ventilators for children, beds in NICU and increasing these facilities. The Chief Minister interacted with various pediatricians through the video-conferencing on Thursday night.
