BJP MLC Gopichand Padalkar on Wednesday had termed NCP chief Sharad Pawar as "corona" that has infected Maharashtra.

NCP workers staged a protest against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Gopichand Padalkar on Wednesday over his objectionable comments against their party chief Sharad Pawar.

NCP leader and Sharad Pawar's grandson Rohit Pawar has also reacted to Gopichand Padalkar offensive statement about Sharad Pawar. In an interview to ABP Mazha, Rohit Pawar said,"I got to know that Devendra Fadnavis and many senior BJP leaders blasted Padalkar for his remarks. I would just like to say that he should learn something from his senior leader of his own party".

Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said,"Making such remarks against senior leaders is not appropriate".

"I had a word with Padalkar. I told him that though Pawar saheb is our political opponent he is not our enemy. I told him that forget Pawar saheb, making such remarks against any senior leader is not appropriate.

"If anyone wants to express his opposition, it should be done using appropriate words," said Devendra Fadnavis, who is the Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Assembly.
