Maharashtra politics is taking twits and turns after 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections from reports of Eknath Shinde claiming not happy with Deputy Chief Minister post and BJP of fighting local body polls alone. Another turn as politics in state taken place when reports emerged that Shiv Sena UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin MNS chief Raj Thackeray are forming alliance for the upcoming civic body elections.
Shiv Sena UBT leader and MP Sanjay Raut cleared the air by saying that the talks are going on "emotion levels" and will be decided by two brothers, whether to form an alliance or not. Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Raut said, "There is no allaince (between MNS and Shiv Sena -UBT) as of now, only emotional talks are going on."
"Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray are brothers. We have been together for years. Our relationship has not broken... Both brothers will decide (about the alliance). We have accepted what Uddhav Ji said," Shiv Sena UBT MP stated.
He said for the betterment of Maharashtra if we want to come togather we will come togather, however, alliance has not ye deceided. "for Maharashtra, if we (MNS and Shiv Sena -UBT) need to come together, we will. Uddhav Ji has never talked about any terms and conditions," Raut said told to media.
Hinting to Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction, Raut said, "Uddhav Ji said that there are a few parties who claim to be well-wishers of Maharashtra, but they are the enemy of Maharashtra. They broke Balasaheb's Shiv Sena to attack the pride of Maharashtra, and with such parties, we shouldn't have any relations, and then only we can be true Maharashtrians, and this is not a condition but the feelings of the people of Maharashtra, and this is what Udhhav ji has said..."
However, Raj Thackeray shows willingness to joined Uddhav Thackeray by setting aside past differences. Even, Uddhav Thackeray also responded positively to Raj Thackeray’s statement, saying he was ready to put aside disputes for the sake of the Marathi language and Maharashtra.
After the reports of reunion of Shiv Sena UBT and MNS, reactions from several leaders, including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis welcomed it saying, “If the two come together, we will be happy about it. If people settle their differences, it is a good thing. What else can I say about it?”
