The celebration of Shiv Jayanti across state is celebrated with the grand 'Jai Shivaji-Jai Bharat Padyatra.'
Mahayuti leaders also interacted with children. The event featured cultural performances by kids, celebrating Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy.
In Vasai area, a procession of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was taken out by the BJP MLA Sneha Dube Pandit which was attended by thousands on people. Pandit also garlanded Shivaji’s statue and planted trees. The event saw participation from municipal officials and featured cultural programs under "Jai Shivaji-Jai Bharat Padyatra."
Citizens of Nagpur also celebrated the Shiv Jayanti in early hours of Wednesday, with 'lazim dhol and tasha'. A video shared by the news agency ANI shows hundreds of people gathered on road and saffron flags were also seen flying in the air.
Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630, at Shivneri Fort in Pune. The renowned Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birthday is commemorated during the festival of Jayanti. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a 17th-century Indian warrior king who founded the Maratha Empire. He is considered to be one of the greatest warriors in Indian history.
