Maharashtra Minister for School Education Varsha Gaikwad had called an important meeting today regarding Class 10 and 12 examinations. It has been decided that a decision regarding class 9 and 11 examinations will be taken tomorrow. No decision has been taken yet regarding the 10th and 12th exams. However, it is said that the decision regarding Class 10 and 12 examinations will be announced in the next five to six days after discussing the matter with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Therefore, it is being said that the school education department is preparing to take a big decision regarding the class X and XII examinations.

Strict restrictions have once again been imposed due to the increasing number of covid cases in the state. As a result, parents and students are wondering how exams will be held amid rising covid cases.

Varsha Gaikwad has already announced that students from Class 1st to Class 8th will be promoted to the next class without any examinations. MNS president Raj Thackeray also said in a press conference today that he has demanded from the Chief Minister that students of class X and XII should be declared pass without any examination.

Due to the strict restrictions imposed by the state till April 30, students may have difficulty in reaching the examination centres if exams are conducted amid pandemic. There is a possibility of confusion at the examination centres. Therefore, considering the situation of covid outbreak in the state, the possibility of the state government taking a major decision in the next few days regarding Class X and XII cannot be ruled out.Class 10  written exams were scheduled to be held from April 29 to May 20, while class 12 exam were supposed to held from 23rd April to 21st May.
