Amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray's son and cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray on Monday said that he was confident that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will emerge out of the crisis – fuelled by the rebellion of minister Eknath Shinde and a group of MLAs – as ruling coalition had the love of people with them. He also dubbed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut as a “circus”. Raut has been asked by the agency to appear before its officials on Tuesday for questioning in a money-laundering probe linked to the re-development of a Mumbai 'chawl' and other related financial transactions involving his wife and friends.
Continuing his attack on the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, on Monday, dubbed them “traitors” and expressed confidence of the Maha Vikas Aghadi winning the floor test in state assembly. Those who run away don't win, he said, adding, "We are confident of winning. We have all love with us. Those who betray don't win.""Those who ran away from here and are calling themselves rebels, if they wanted to rebel, they should have done it here. They should have resigned and contested election," he said, reported ANI.He said the rebel MLAs would have to face a "second floor test" when they sit before him, look him in the eye and tell him what the faction of Sena led by his father Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray did wrong. On minister Uday Samant joining the Shinde faction in Guwahati, he said it is the minister's decision, but he would have to "come before us some day, he will have to look us in the eye some day."Reacting to Enforcement Directorate issuing summons to Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut in an alleged money laundering case of 2018, he said, "This is not politics, this has now become a circus." Aaditya Thackeray is now the only cabinet minister from the Shiv Sena quota who is an MLA, while the remaining three from his party are MLCs.
