Akola, Maharashtra (February 13, 2025): Former NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA Tukaram Bidkar, died in a road accident near Shivani T Point on the Akola-Murtizapur National Highway on Thursday. The accident left him critically injured. He was taken to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.
According to reports, Bidkar was returning from a meeting at City Sports Club in Akola, where BJP’s Amravati division leaders and workers had gathered. The meeting was attended by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Labour Minister Akash Fundkar, and Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike. After meeting Bawankule, Bidkar was heading back on his motorcycle when the goods vehicle crashed into him. His associate, who was riding with him, also lost his life in the accident.
After the accident, MIDC police reportedly rushed to the scene. They seized the vehicle and took the driver and his accomplices into custody.
Bidkar served as the MLA of Murtizapur from 2004 to 2009. He was a key NCP leader from the Mali community in Vidarbha.
