The decision to start schools in Maharashtra will be taken only after receiving guidelines from the Central government. However, we are making efforts to ensure that the students academic year is not wasted, informed Maharashtra Minister of School Education Varsha Gaikwad.

Speaking to Lokmat, she said that after school started in the United States on June 15, a large number of children contracted the coronavirus infection. Therefore, the central government decided not to start schools till August 31. Now, schools will not start in the state without the instructions of the central government.

There is a mixed response from parents and educational institutions to start the school and at the local level the District Collector and the Chief Executive Officer must take a joint decision.

It is an important year for class 10th and 12th and teachers should try to increase their connectivity to reduce stress. Teachers can reduce stress by communicating with children not only through smartphones but also through simple phones.
