All operations at Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) market located in Vashi, Navi Mumbai including supplies of perishables will remain closed on December 8 in support of Bharat bandh, said Navi Mumbai APMC President Rajendra Shelke.

The Vashi APMC is the apex body of about 300 APMCs in the state. The five wholesale markets have a daily footfall of around 50,000.

Thousands of farmers are sitting on various borders of New Delhi since November 26 against the laws and have called for a ''Bharat Bandh'' on December 8.

Farmers are protesting against the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
