Brazilian Woman Arrested at Mumbai Airport for Smuggling Cocaine Worth Rs 11 Crore Inside Her Stomach

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recently arrested a Brazilian woman at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after she attempted to smuggle cocaine worth nearly Rs 11 crore. The woman, traveling from Sao Paulo, was found to have concealed the drugs in approximately 100 capsules ingested in her stomach.

Upon suspicion, the authorities detained her and took her to a nearby government hospital, where a medical examination revealed the concealed cocaine. The capsules were then extracted, and the cocaine was seized in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The woman was arrested following the recovery, and authorities are now investigating the possibility of her involvement in a larger international drug trafficking network. This arrest highlights the increasing efforts by law enforcement to intercept drug smuggling through unconventional methods, such as body concealment, at major airports.
