In a major drug bust, customs officials at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMI) in Mumbai, on April 9 intercepted a foreign passenger attempting to smuggle cocaine worth Rs 7.85 crore into the country. The passenger, who arrived on flight UR430 from an international destination on April 9, 2025, was caught after officials acted on spot profiling.

During routine checks, customs officers noticed suspicious behavior and conducted a detailed examination of the passenger and his belongings. X-ray scans revealed that the individual had ingested multiple pellets containing the narcotic substance in an attempt to evade detection. A total of 785 grams of suspected cocaine was recovered.
The passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigations are currently underway.
