Mumbai beats Delhi in Uber’s lost and found index report. Gold Biscuits and mobile phones are the items that people forget the most in Uber. When it comes to leaving things in Uber taxis, Mumbai has the notorious reputation of being the most forgetful city. The nation's financial hub has broken Delhi's two-year record as India's most forgetful city, according to Uber's 9th edition of its Lost and Found Index. Shiva Shailendran, Director of Consumer and Growth at Uber India South Asia, had the following comment on the Index: “We’ve all been there – that facepalm moment when we realised we forgot a cherished belonging in a cab. At Uber, we’ve made it easy to retrieve lost items with just a few steps in our app. We appreciate the trust our riders place in us each time they choose Uber, and we believe it’s the perfect moment to offer a quick refresher on how to recover items left behind.”
According to Uber's Lost & Found data, most frequently forgotten items, forgetful days of the year, forgetful days of the week, the most likely time of day, and even unique goods are revealed. You might be surprised to learn that some of the most frequent items left in taxis are gold biscuits, mobile phones, a 25 kg cow ghee packet, a wedding gown and a hair wig. There are more questions than answers in the Lost & Found data. When it comes to phones, Samsung is the most forgotten brand, followed by Apple and OnePlus. Then there are the standard suspects, such as passports, earbuds, and backpacks.
According to Uber's 2024 Lost & Found Index, Mumbai has taken the top spot among the nation's most forgetful taxi passengers. Delhi is in second place, and Pune, which moved up two spots from the previous report to third place, overtook Bengaluru, which finished fourth ahead of Kolkata.

The Common Time Of Losing Items:
All of us eagerly await the weekend, when the good times begin on Friday night, but it is also the most forgettable time of day. Yes, before you start dancing towards the weekend, remember that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday make up the Bermuda Triangle of memory, and that the hours to watch out for are 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 6 p.m. People forget things when they are distracted at their highest, whether it's the weekend hustle or the Christmas mayhem. The greatest increase in lost things occurred on festive days, most likely as a result of preoccupied festivities.
