Hi-Fi Online Sex Racket Busted in Mumbai; Woman Pimp Arrested, Four Girls Rescued
The Kalachowki Police have busted a hi-fi online sex racket operating in the city. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested a 26-year-old woman named Jenny, who is believed to be the key agent running the racket. During the operation, four young women were rescued from her clutches. After undergoing medical examination, the rescued girls were sent to a women’s rehabilitation centre.
Police have booked Jenny under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). According to police investigations, Jenny used to send these women to various hotels across Mumbai, including areas like Dadar, Kalachowki, and Nagpada, as per the demands of her clients.
Sources from the Mumbai Police revealed that several gangs are actively running online sex rackets across the city. As part of an ongoing crackdown against such illegal operations, Kalachowki police received specific information about Jenny, who resides in the Mira-Bhayander area. Acting on the lead, undercover cops posing as customers contacted Jenny over the phone and expressed interest in hiring four to five girls.
Jenny reportedly shared photos of the girls via WhatsApp and quoted a price of ₹30,000 per girl. After finalising the deal over the phone, she was asked to bring the girls to a hotel in the Lalbaug area on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 pm. As agreed, Jenny arrived at the hotel accompanied by four young women.
While Jenny was negotiating the deal with the undercover customer, the Kalachowki Police team raided the hotel and arrested her on the spot. The four women were rescued and during questioning, they revealed that Jenny had approached them during various social events and lured them into the flesh trade by collecting their contact numbers and offering work opportunities.
Further investigation revealed that Jenny used to pay the girls ₹20,000 out of the ₹30,000 she charged from each client, keeping ₹10,000 for herself. Following this, police officially registered a case and took Jenny into custody. The rescued girls were later sent for medical examination and subsequently shifted to a women’s shelter home.
During the raid, police also seized cash, five mobile SIM cards, and other incriminating material. Investigations have also revealed that Jenny was in contact with several more young women and used to send them to different hotels to meet clients as per demand.
