India’s Got Latent Controversy: SC Slams Ranveer Allhabadia for His Remarks, Grants Protection from Arrest

Ranveer Allahbadia, the podcaster at the core of a controversy for remarks he made about parents and sex on the YouTube show 'India's Got Latent,' was heavily criticised by the Supreme Court on February 18.

Judges Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh's bench slammed Allahbadia, saying "there is something dirty in his mind that has spread through this program" and asking "why should the court entertain such persons."

The SC said, “In the name of freedom of speech, no one has the licence to speak whatever they want against norms of society.”

The Supreme Court has granted interim protection to Allahbadia from arrest as multiple FIRs are lodged against him across the country over his inappropriate remarks while he was on panel of India’s Got Latent.

The Supreme Court also prohibited Allahbadia from airing any more YouTube shows.
