Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Kunal Kamra Row: 'Such Actions Cannot Be Tolerated'
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday, March 24, said that such actions cannot be tolerated and legal action will be taken against standup comedian Kunal Kamra over his remarks on Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
"The way stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has attempted to insult Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister and current Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde through a song is wrong, and we strongly condemn it," said Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis while speaking to media in Mumbai.

"Such actions cannot be tolerated...I believe that comedy and satire are acceptable, and anyone is free to make jokes, even about us. However, if someone deliberately tries to humiliate and defame such a senior leader, it will not be tolerated. Any legal action necessary will be taken against such acts," he added.
Earlier today, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar commented on the controversy, saying that no one should go beyond the law.
Khar Habitat Club was vandalised, where Kunal Kamra performed his show. In it, he called Shinde a “traitor" and used a modified version of a Hindi song from the Bollywood movie Dil To Pagal Hai. The police also registered a case against nearly 40 Shiv Sena workers for allegedly vandalising the Studio.
