To manage the anticipated surge in crowds during the year-end period, Central Railway has announced temporary restrictions on platform ticket sales at 14 major stations. This measure aims to prevent overcrowding on platforms and ensure smooth passenger movement.

The restriction will be effective from midnight on December 29 until January 1, 2025. The affected stations include: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Solapur, Kalaburagi and Latur.

However, the restriction is not effective for aged persons, senior citizens, ailing persons, children, illiterate persons,  and lady passengers unable to fend for themselves are exempted from these restrictions to ensure ease of travel.  

Central Railway has urged travelers to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the new regulations to ensure a safe and hassle-free travel experience during the year-end period.
