Matunga Z Bridge Reopens After a Year for Public, Easing Commuter Struggles
Over a year after the original foot overbridge (FOB) was closed for restoration, the recently built Matunga Z Bridge has finally opened. A few final touches will be given to the bridge after the Z bridge has been opened. We opened the bridge at the end of February, as promised, a CR representative told Midday.
Thousands of office workers, students, and locals utilise the stylish new bridge, which is an essential connection between Matunga east and west. During the closure of the FOB, these individuals had to take lengthy diversions. In addition to colleges like Ruia, Ruparel, Khalsa, VJTI, and Welingkar, the region has a number of municipal schools, including IES and the Raja Shivaji school complex. There are also a number of temples, a vegetable market, and a flower market. The people who frequently commuted in this area every day experienced significant hardship while the bridge was closed.
With the opening of the updated east-west link, which is now broader than earlier, commuters won't have to take lengthy detours.
Meanwhile, commuters can anticipate minor disruptions in Central Railway's local train services this morning as a result of a 10-hour mega that started last night. The block that started yesterday at 11:15 p.m. will finish today at 9:15 a.m.
