Mumbai: 25-Year-Old Bride-To-Be Dies in Tragic Road Accident in Bhoiwada; Driver on Run
A 25-year-old woman, who was soon to be married, lost her life in a tragic road accident in Bhoiwada on Monday evening. The victim, identified as Nikita Bhairu Dalvi, was run over by an unidentified vehicle in front of her fiancé. The Bhoiwada Police have registered a case against the unknown driver and are scanning CCTV footage to track him down, as he fled the scene after the accident.
According to police reports, the complainant, Sandeep Krishna Kutte, was engaged to Nikita in February, and their wedding was scheduled for May 7. The sudden demise of Nikita has left both the Kutte and Dalvi families devastated.
The accident occurred on March 3 at around 7:30 PM on Dr. B.A. Road, South Lane of Hindmata Bridge in Bhoiwada. Sandeep, originally from Kolhapur, has been residing in Sion-Pratiksha Nagar for the past five years with his father and works for a private travel company. Nikita, on the other hand, lived in Kanjurmarg and was employed at a textile company in Lower Parel.
On the fateful evening, Sandeep had visited Nikita at her office in Lower Parel, and they were heading towards her home in Kanjurmarg on his Activa scooter. While descending the Hindmata Bridge, the two lost control of the bike and fell. At the same moment, a speeding vehicle coming from behind ran over Nikita, critically injuring her.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Bhoiwada Police rushed to the spot and immediately took the injured woman to KEM Hospital, where doctors declared her dead at 8:45 PM.
Following Sandeep's complaint, the police have registered a case against the unidentified driver for reckless driving leading to death. Preliminary investigations suggest that an oil spill on the road caused Sandeep’s bike to skid, resulting in the accident. The search for the accused driver is underway.
