A shocking incident occurred in the Sakinaka area, where a 30-year-old man was brutally assaulted and killed by two individuals over a stolen mobile phone. The Sakinaka police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused father-son duo. The victim succumbed to his injuries after being beaten and pushed to the ground, suffering severe head trauma.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok Avinash Tulase (30), a resident of Ashok Nagar in Sakinaka. According to the complaint, Ashok had allegedly stolen a mobile phone belonging to Suresh Dunghav. Enraged by the theft, Suresh and his son Laxman Dunghav confronted Ashok in the Kajupada area of Sakinaka. The duo then launched a violent attack, kicking and punching him repeatedly. During the assault, Ashok was pushed to the ground, causing a severe head injury. He lost consciousness on the spot.
Locals immediately rushed him to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, where he was undergoing treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. Following the incident, Ashok’s brother, Akash Tulase (24), reported the matter to the police. Based on his complaint, the Sakinaka police registered a case of murder under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against Suresh and Laxman Dunghav.
Realizing the seriousness of the crime, police formed a special team to trace the accused. Both Suresh and Laxman were arrested from Ashok Nagar.
On Saturday, Ashok allegedly stole Suresh’s mobile phone and fled. Suresh informed his son Laxman, and together, they started searching for Ashok. They eventually found him near a country bar in Kajupada. The duo confronted Ashok, abused him verbally, and then started thrashing him. During the scuffle, they pushed him, causing him to fall and suffer a severe head injury.
A medical examination later confirmed that Ashok’s death was caused by severe head trauma. Forensic experts have inspected the crime scene, collected blood samples, and gathered other evidence to aid the investigation.
The Sakinaka police are conducting further inquiries into the case.
