According to the reports, someone recorded four separate videos of the policemen accepting bribes from hawkers and stall owners in December 2024. The videos were later combined and circulated on social media. Once the video gained attention online, a departmental inquiry was launched. A preliminary inquiry found the four officers guilty, leading to their suspension.
The suspension order stated that the actions seen in the video tarnished the image of the Brihanmumbai Police Force. A detailed investigation is underway, and further action will be taken based on its findings.
