The J.J. Marg Police have arrested an 80-year-old man, a "bangi" of a mosque, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He is accused of allegedly misconduct a minor boy. Following his arrest, the police presented him in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.

According to information received from the J.J. Marg Police, a 45-year-old woman filed a complaint stating that her 14-year-old son, who regularly visits the mosque, was subjected to inappropriate behavior by the elderly man.

The complainant alleged that the incident occurred twice.

In her complaint to the police, the woman alleged that the accused took her son to a room and behaved inappropriately with him. After the incident, the child became withdrawn and displayed fearful behavior. Observing the change in his demeanor, the mother spoke to him and, after gaining his trust, the boy narrated his ordeal.

Upon learning about the incident, the boy's mother immediately went to the J.J. Marg Police Station and filed a complaint.

Taking swift action, the police arrested the 80-year-old man.

A police source confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway. According to the complaint received by the police, the accused committed the alleged offenses against the boy on February 26th and March 6th.
