Mumbai, 07 July: A hit-and-run incident occurred in Worli, Mumbai. A BMW car struck a couple riding a two-wheeler and dragged them along. In this horrific accident, the woman riding the bike died on the spot. The police reported that the accident happened on Sunday morning at 5:30 AM. The owner of the BMW car involved in the accident is reported to be a deputy leader of the Shinde group.
In this hit-and-run case, the police have detained Rajesh Shah, the deputy leader of the Shiv Sena Shinde group. Rajesh Shah is the deputy leader of Shiv Sena in the Palghar district. Rajesh Shah was not in the car at the time of the accident. His son Mihir Shah and the driver were in the car. The accused boy is still absconding. The police are conducting an intensive search for both the accused boy and the driver. A case has been registered against both of them.
A police officer stated that an accident occurred near the Atria Mall in Worli. The couple resides near Worli Koliwada, close to the mall, and had gone to buy fish at Sassoon Dock in the morning. While returning home with the fish, their bike was hit from behind by the BMW. Due to the fish on the bike, the husband lost control of the bike. Both collided with the car’s bonnet. The husband was thrown off to the side, but the woman couldn't get out of the way in time. As the BMW driver sped away, the woman was dragged along with the car for about 100 meters.
After the accident, the couple was taken to Nair Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the woman died, while her husband is still receiving treatment. The impact caused the husband to lose control of the bike, and both fell onto the bonnet of the car. While the husband managed to jump clear, the woman, carrying a heavy load, was unable to avoid being crushed under the car. The driver, startled by the sudden collision, fled the scene, leaving behind the injured woman. She was rushed to Nair Hospital in Mumbai Central but tragically succumbed to her injuries. The police have launched a search for the absconding driver.
