Mumbai, Maharashtra (April 21, 2025): A Chief Judicial Magistrate’s iPhone was stolen at Wankhede Stadium while he was watching a cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The incident came to light after the officer filed an online police complaint.
According to police, the theft took place on April 17 when Muzaffar Shaikh, the magistrate of a South Mumbai court, attended the match with his family. The stadium was packed with spectators and someone allegedly took advantage of the crowd to steal the phone from his pocket.

A case has been registered at Marine Drive police station against an unidentified person. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the stadium to identify the suspect.
In the match played on April 17, Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets. Hyderabad batted first and set a target of 163 runs. Mumbai chased it successfully by scoring 166 runs.
