Mumbai, Maharashtra (March 24, 2025): A massive fire broke out in Mumbai’s Dharavi area late Monday night after a truck carrying gas cylinders exploded, causing widespread panic. The incident occurred on a road in PMGP Colony, where a parked truck loaded with cylinders suddenly caught fire. Moments later, a series of explosions followed as around 12 to 13 cylinders burst one after another. The blasts continued for nearly 15 minutes.
The blasts were so intense that they shook the surrounding area. Residents reported hearing deafening explosions and seeing flames and thick smoke rising high into the sky. The force of the blasts caused damage to several nearby vehicles, with reports indicating that five to eight cars were affected.
Firefighters rushed to the scene with eight fire engines and ten water tankers. They battled the flames for hours before bringing the situation under control. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Police and fire officials are investigating to determine what triggered the incident.
