Mumbai: FIR Registered Against Shiv Sena's Rahul Kanal and 19 Others for Vandalising Habitat Club in Khar

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Shiv Sena Yuva Sena (Shinde faction) General Secretary Rahool Kanal and 19 others for vandalising the Habitat Club in a standup comedy set in Mumbai's Khar on Sunday night, March 24. FIR is registered under various sections of BNS and the Maharashtra Police Act.

This comes after Shiv Sena workers have ransacked a club where a stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra had mocked Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. The party members have also gathered at the Khar Police Station to file a complaint against him.

Kamra sparked controversy on Sunday for referring to the Deputy CM as a "traitor" (Gaddar) during a performance at the hotel, located in Khar. He had dubbed a modified version of a Hindi song from "Dil To Pagal Hai".

Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde said, "Mumbai police should arrest Kunal Kamra. He should be arrested. He should be put behind bars..."

Sena MP Naresh Mhaske warned Kamra said he will not roam free now not only in Maharashtra, but also across India. "I will not let you roam not only in Maharashtra, but also in India. Don't try to interfere in our business..."

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT MLA and son of Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray said that the act undermines the position of Fadnavis. “Shinde’s cowardly gang breaks the comedy show stage where comedian  Kunal Kamra  put out a song on him which was 100% true. Only an insecure coward would react to a song by someone.  What about  law and order in the state?  This is another attempt to undermine the CM and Home Minister by Shinde,” he said.
